Teens At Party Face Gun Charges
Two teenagers are facing a slew of charges after they allegedly crashed a party over the weekend and got into a fight that resulted in several people being assaulted and threatened with a gun. Windsor police received a call about a fight at a house in the 1600 block of Ford Boulevard around 1:15 a.m. Saturday. Police said party crashers got into a confrontation with others that escalated into a fight. The brawl spilled out to the front lawn, where some people held down one of the unwelcomed guests. Police said a second suspect went to a vehicle and grabbed a long gun, which was used to hit one of the people holding down his friend. The two party crashers then forced their way into the house by smashing a front window and a door panel. Police said partygoers were threatened at gunpoint and six people were assaulted. Five suffered non-life threatening injuries. The two men were last seen driving away in a dark-coloured vehicle. Then on Tuesday around 7:30 a.m., two suspects went to police headquarters and surrendered. Damon BensonLazaroff, 19, from Windsor, is charged with three counts of assault causing bodily harm, assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of mischief, break and enter, two counts of pointing a firearm, utter threats and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace. Ali Hamieh, 18, from Windsor, is charged with assault with a weapon, assault, two counts of mischief, break and enter, utter threats and possession of weapon dangerous to public peace. Police still have not found the gun.
