THE ULTIMATE TEAM BUILDING EXPERIENCE

-

Are you and your colleagues faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap across a bouncy castle? If so, you should join forces and register for the Seventh Annual Windsor Corporate Challenge. Meighen Nehme, president and CEO of The Job Shoppe, saw an opportunity to provide businesses with a one-day event that encouraged team building while giving back to the community and thus founded the Windsor Corporate Challenge. This year’s event is Saturday, June 16.

Since its inception in 2012, the Windsor Corporate Challenge has raised more than $715,000 for various local charities and organizations with a focus on children, women and families. This year, the Windsor Corporate Challenge has joined forces with the Fight Like Mason Foundation to improve treatment, care and quality of life for children diagnosed with cancer. “We are so humbled and grateful to be the chosen charity for this year’s Windsor Corporate Challenge,” says Chantelle Bacon, president of the Fight Like Mason Foundation and Mason’s mom. Teams register and commit to raise as much money as possible for the selected charity and celebrate their hard work in a one-day FUN-raiser. The day’s agenda sees teams of 8-12 participants competing in 10 events, all with the goal of getting the best overall time and top bragging rights. Events are designed to be challenging and fun, combining cognitive and physical skills, along with fostering team building through working together to complete challenges. Popularity for this event has grown over the years and saw a record-breaking 70 teams participate with more than 1,000 participants and volunteers last year. “Every year we are amazed by the amount of interest and participation for this event and we anticipate the same this year,” comments Meighen Nehme. “We are very excited to once again sponsor this marquee event for our community and provide the largest local teambuilding activity.”

During the closing ceremony, organizers reveal how much money was raised by the teams that year. All net funds raised this year by the Windsor Corporate Challenge will be directed to fund Mason’s Power Poles, Super Soldier and Super-Buddies programs along with providing funding for research programs which focus on newly developed treatment techniques and drug targets, specifically for childhood rhabdomyosarcoma. Several awards and prizes are handed out to the team with the best overall time, team spirit award and top fundraiser for both individuals and teams. Prizes from past years have included tickets to sporting events, movie packages, wine tours and other team-based activities. If donning your leotard and cape is not your thing, the Windsor Corporate Challenge offers a variety of ways for both individuals and business to get involved in the event including corporate sponsorship, fundraising, door prize donations and volunteer opportunities. Organizers rely on the generosity of local organizations and corporate sponsorships to help fund the event and provide participants with a memorable experience. Anyone interested in contributing to the Windsor Corporate Challenge is asked to contact Ashley Sarros, Windsor Corporate Challenge Event chair at 519-968-3636. This event is sure to sell out, so embrace your inner superhero, gather up your colleagues and register online at windsorcorporatechallenge.com.
