City offices closed, but pools will still open

City of Windsor offices will be closed on the civic holiday on Monday and many city services, including parking enforcemen­t and Windsor Public Library branches, will also be taking the day off.

City council’s planning, heritage and economic developmen­t standing committee, which normally meets once a month on Mondays, will meet on Tuesday instead starting at 4:30 p.m. The next city council meeting will be a special joint meeting with the planning committee on Monday, Aug. 13, starting at 6 p.m., to deal with the zoning and Official Plan changes for the mega-hospital project proposed for County Road 42. There will be no residentia­l recycling or garbage pickup on Monday. Collection will be delayed one day. The public drop-off depot and chemical waste depot at Central Avenue and E.C. Row Expressway will be closed Monday.

The 311 call centre will be closed Monday, resuming with regular hours on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, the 211 call centre will be open 24 hours on Monday for Windsor and Essex County residents.

Outdoor pools will be open Monday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Sand Point Beach will be open from 1 to 7 p.m.

The indoor Windsor Internatio­nal Aquatic and Training Centre will have its adult fit lanes open and adult swims open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and its fitness centre will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. However, swimming lessons at both indoor and outdoor pools will not be running Monday. Meanwhile, the adjacent Adventure Bay Family Water Park will be open Monday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Transit Windsor will be operating, but on its Sunday/holiday schedule. However, the tunnel bus will operate on its regular weekday schedule.
