Ashley HomeStore Now Open in Windsor

- By Karen Paton-Evans

With more than 800 furniture stores worldwide, “Ashley HomeStore had Windsor in its sights for a long time. When the opportunity arose to expand to such a dynamic city, we took it,” says Seneca Goodsman, manager of the new location at 650 Division Rd.,Windsor. “Many people already have Ashley pieces in their homes yet don’t realize it because they bought them at other retailers’ stores,” says Goodsman. Local people who deliberately chose Ashley furnishings for their quality, style and value are “excited an Ashley HomeStore has come to Windsor.” North America’s largest furniture manufacturer celebrated the grand opening of its new showroom on Sat., July 21 and Sun., July 22. “It seemed like the majority of Windsor-Essex County came here for our grand opening weekend,” says Goodsman. “The turnout exceeded our expectations.” On Saturday, eager guests lined up early at the door. After the morning ribbon cutting, the first 50 guests received $200 store gift cards; the next 50 were given $50 store gift cards. Among the many folks who are happy to welcome the Ashley HomeStore are local kids who can now sleep soundly and comfortably on their own new mattresses. Through the furniture company’s ongoing Hope to Dream program, a portion of mattress sales helps fund free new mattresses, boxsprings and bed frames for children in need. The program was ramped up for the grand opening. “For every mattress we sold between July 21 and July 31, we will be donating a mattress to the local community.” says Goodsman. “The great news is we will be donating 120 mattresses!” She is personally delighted about the new location. Born and raised in Windsor, Goodsman was in her seventh year working in Alberta Ashley HomeStores when she learned a new store was coming to her hometown. “I’m thrilled to be back,” she says. As guests quickly learn, “the advantage to shopping in our Ashley HomeStore is you deal directly with us, the manufacturer,” Goodsman says. “We only sell Ashley products, so we’re experts who thoroughly know every piece. We also have lots of exclusive Ashley manufactured product not available elsewhere.” Featuring trendy and timeless options, the huge selection sprawls over Ashley HomeStore’s 25,000 square foot showroom. Rather than dividing furniture into dining, bedroom and other categories, Ashley arranges them in seven Lifestyle collections: Contemporary Living, Family Spaces, Grand Elegance, Heritage Road, New Traditions, Urbanology and Vintage Casual. Seeing the coordinated vignettes of one specific Lifestyle enables guests to envision their living room, dining room, media room, home office and bedrooms flowing beautifully in their own home. One thing everyone needs is a great night’s sleep. “Our Dream Diagnostics machine allows us to see where you are experiencing pressure or pain while lying down, so we can fit you properly for the ideal mattress,” Goodsman says. Once a purchase is made, “we track everything to ensure your order is perfect,” says the store manager. Since most products are stocked in Ashley’s Mississauga warehouse, “we can deliver your new pieces to your home within one week.” Free local delivery brings the purchase over the threshold of the guest’s door. For a fee, Ashley’s White Glove Delivery service includes delivery, assembly, positioning and removal of packaging as well as the old piece being replaced. “Drop in and get inspired at our new Ashley HomeStore in Windsor,” she invites. “You can also shop at home at www.ashleyhomestore.ca”.
