Police release images of two suspects in Good Samaritan stabbing

Police have released surveillance camera images of the two suspects involved in the stabbing of a Good Samaritan in downtown Windsor last week.

The images show two males running south on Ouellette Avenue, away from the crime scene at Park Street.

Both suspects are described as having olive skin and appearing to be in their early 20s.

One of them — a male about five-foot-six with a medium build — was wearing a distinctive black and white track suit with three stripes on its sleeves, the number 72 on the left leg, and an emblem on the right leg. He also wore white running shoes.

The other suspect — a male about five-foot-seven with a medium build — was wearing a black shirt and a black zip-up jacket. He was carrying a white hat.

On Aug. 6, around 1:15 a.m., police responded to trouble at the intersection of Ouellette Avenue and Park Street. They arrived to find paramedics treating a 22-year-old male for a stab wound.

The injured man was taken to hospital for further treatment. His injury was not considered lifethreatening.

Police learned that the victim had noticed the two suspects following another male in a manner that seemed threatening.

The Good Samaritan asked what was happening and if the male being followed was all right. One of the suspects responded by drawing a knife and stabbing the victim. The two suspects immediately fled on foot. Surveillance images of the suspects can be viewed at windsorstar. com.
