‘Beast’ McDavid was worthy of Hart: Hall

-

Taylor Hall won the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable player last season. But when it comes to naming the best player in the league, the New Jersey Devils winger said the title belongs to Connor McDavid. “He’s the best player in the league,” said Hall, who ranked sixth in scoring with 93 points last season. McDavid was not one of the three finalists for the Hart Trophy, mainly because Edmonton missed the playoffs. But Hall said that was a reason why he should have won. “For him to score as many points as he did on a weaker team was incredible,” Hall said. “It’s amazing to think he’s only going to get better. He’s only 21 and has a long ways to go in terms of physical maturity. He’s going to be a beast.”
