Windsor Star

A Clear Choice

“We are on the right track... And we can’t afford to go back”

-

Dear Fellow Residents, As your Mayor for the past four years, I have worked diligently along with our members of City Council to turn our city around. We have repositioned Windsor as a modern, progressive community that offers all the essential services, while investing in community amenities that strengthen our neighbourhoods and meet the needs of our residents, job creators and investors alike. Our city is on the right track, and we are moving her forward. Our combined community efforts have resulted in more jobs, greater investment and better opportunities for our residents. Our hard work is paying off and today our Windsor is positioned as the best place to live and work and offers a better and attractive quality of life. We have made and continue to make unprecedented investment in our roads and sewers as well as significant investments in our city facilities, parks, libraries, arts and culture, family amenities, fire halls, affordable housing and pools and we accomplished this while holding the line on taxes. We have managed your tax dollars wisely and we can’t afford to go back. Since 2006, we have brought a fiscally prudent approach to City Hall and the results are clear. Debt has been significantly reduced, reserves have increased substantially, taxes remain low and most importantly, investment in what matters most to you and your families is being made in roads and sewers and community safety. I have always put our taxpayers and residents first. I always will. My Plan addresses what is most important to you: 1. Investing in our Roads and Sewers 2. Making our Community Safe and Secure 3. Continuing to Improve our Quality of Life and Creating Jobs We are faced with a clear choice: there are those that are determined to go back to the way things were; to bring back a City Hall that puts the interests of others ahead of yours. There are those that want a council to oppose everything for the sake of clashing with the Mayor for political gain. I remember that Windsor and nothing got done. We can’t afford to go back, we can’t afford to take Windsor off the right track. We need to Move Forward and I am asking for your support and vote so that we can continue to build our community as one that is strong, modern, safe and affordable. On Monday, October 22nd, I ask for your continued support and for your vote. Let’s keep Moving Windsor Forward together.
