Million-buck win split by 37 Central Stampings co-workers

How much is a million dollars split 37 ways? A local group of Lotto MAX players get to do the math. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. has confirmed the group’s claim on a Maxmillion­s prize from a Lotto MAX draw on June 8. The million-dollar group win was one of two local cash prizes picked up in Toronto this week. A group of workers at Windsor’s Central Stampings won a $1-million Maxmillion­s prize after the winning ticket was purchased at Haf-Price Variety store at 1801 Drouillard Rd.

Draws for Maxmillion­s happen as part of Lotto MAX draws when the main jackpot reaches $50 million.

Every Maxmillion­s prize is $1 million, winnable by matching all seven number sets of a Maximillio­ns draw.

The odds of winning Maxmillion­s is typically one in 28.6 million.

With the OLG’s confirmati­on, each member of the lucky group gets $27,027 — plus two cents. The next Lotto MAX draw is on Friday. Tickets are $5 per play. The other local winner was Polis Khael Dinkha of Windsor after going “All In” to win the Poker Lotto All In jackpot worth $136,213.50 on Oct. 17.

Polis also won $5,000 on the instant portion of his Poker Lotto play bringing his total winnings to $141.213.50.

That winning ticket was purchased at Crystal Convenienc­e on Tecumseh Road in Windsor.
