Not everyone has been doing their holiday shopping in the spirit of the season.

Police are looking for suspects in two robberies at Windsor department stores this week. Investigators have not yet confirmed if the two incidents are related.

One incident happened on Tuesday evening, at a store in the 4100 block of Walker Road.

Security cameras recorded a man loading up a shopping cart with a large amount of merchandise. He was joined in the store by a woman.

Around 6:15 p.m., the pair left the store with the loaded shopping cart. They did not pay for the items. An employee approached the suspects and the woman aggressively brandished a kitchen knife.

The employee backed off and the thieves fled.

The woman was described as a white female, 25 to 30 years old. She was wearing a black zippered coat, a grey hooded sweater, black knee-high boots, black pants or leggings and a grey toque.

The man was described as white and 25 to 30 years old. He wore a black coat, a white shirt, black pants, white Nike sneakers and a blue toque.

The second incident happened Wednesday night at a department store in the 7200 block of Tecumseh Road East.

Security cameras recorded a man and a woman enter the business together around 9 p.m. Both began filling shopping baskets with merchandise.

The pair then moved toward the exits without any indication they intended to pay for the items.

A store employee approached the suspects and the woman brandished a knife. The employee backed away and the pair left with the loaded baskets. The thieves were seen leaving the parking lot in a silver Pontiac Sunfire sedan. Police eventually found the vehicle. Its licence plates were previously reported as stolen.

The woman was described as a slim, white female in her 20s. She had long hair that was dyed red.

At the time of the crime, she was wearing a red winter coat, black knee-high boots and black pants or leggings.

The man was described as white and in his 20s. He wore a white winter coat with black trim, a white sweatshirt, black pants, white running shoes and a black Puma brand baseball cap.

No one was hurt in either incident.
