Libro donates $45,000 to agri-education

- DAVE WADDELL

The Libro Credit Union will donate $45,000 over three years to help fund Agscape Ontario's food and educational programs for over 4,200 students in Southwestern Ontario.

The investment will fund 195 agri-food lessons aimed at increasing awareness of the sector.

It will also support three interactive career competitions where students get to work with experts in the industry.

“Libro's multi-year commitment to Agscape is a significant investment that provides just that — sustainability for our programs, allowing us to focus on longer term goals and map out a strategic plan for connecting with students across Ontario with everyone's future in mind,” said Agscape's executive director Taylor Selig.

Local food accessibility is one of the credit union's focus areas and Libro supports more than 3,200 farm and agribusiness owners in Southwestern Ontario.
