Post Productions and Windsor Feminist Theatre have entered into a new partnership, drawing on each other's strengths to produce live local theatre.

“This exciting partnership will encourage new and diverse forms of theatre in the spirit of supporting artists with unique visions,” Windsor Feminist Theatre vice-president Collette Broeders stated in a news release.

“It brings interdisciplinary and intersectional approaches together, with programming drawn from a broad range of theatrical disciplines, bringing forward and merging works from theatre, literary arts, music, community arts and dance.”

Both companies plan to become involved with each other's programs and venues.

The first collaboration will be Windsor Feminist Theatre's production of Dominatrix on Trial at The Shadowbox Theatre in the spring of 2021.

“We at Post Productions have long admired Windsor Feminist Theatre for their creative risk-taking, their interdisciplinary approach to theatre, and their commitment to a respectful and collaborative arts community,” said Post Productions managing director Michael K. Potter.

Executives with both firms said they are excited about the potential of the new partnership, the enhanced collaboration, mutual support and shared resources.

“This relationship is a great start to building a better arts community — one where artists can brainstorm and come up with innovative ways to keep theatre alive in these times,” said WFT board member Kianna Porter.

“Two companies who believe in producing thought-provoking, unique pieces, and paying artists for their work. This shows community and hopefully inspires some change and real action towards a better future for artists.”

Post Production offers intimately-staged and often provocative theatrical experiences, with the goal of helping audiences understand the world, other people and themselves with fresh insight.

Windsor Feminist Theatre is a non-profit founded in 1980. It is one of the nation's first feminist theatre organizations, with a mission to illuminate the reality of women's lives and stories through theatre and the arts.
