COVID restrictions make no sense

-

Does anyone have an explanation as to why our long-term-care facilities are being hit the hardest? I ask this because these residents are not leaving their facility. Visitors from the community have largely been restricted to fence visits during the warmer weather and now restricted to essential visitors only; who by the way, had to be tested every 14 days to ensure we are not bringing the virus into the homes. and yet the number of covid patients are out of control.

The restrictions in place make no sense and are not protecting our seniors. The public health officials have placed inconsistent restrictions on the general public, some businesses remain open while many small businesses had to shut down? Schools were permitted to open where social distancing is impossible for both teacher and student, while small independent businesses are forced to close! Major construction sites are still working, while small contractors are shut down.

These inconsistent restrictions make no sense to me at all and are continuing to put the public at large at risk. Just look at the restrictions in long-term-care homes: no visitors in, residents cannot leave and the number of patients suffering with COVID are out of control. We can't blame community spread there … someone needs to look at this, if that means fresh eyes, then find them!
