COME SAIL AWAY

I enjoyed Toby Saltzman’s article about her voyage on the Queen Mary 2 [“Life Ahoy!” September]. My wife and I have done that eastbound five times. There is no better way to cross the pond if you have the time. The cost will vary, but we are quite happy with an inside cabin, so we pay only a little more than economy class air fare (just over $1,000 each, plus what it costs to get to New York) and get all that food and entertainment thrown in for seven days. And you miss out on the worst effects of jet lag in the bargain. —David Selley, via email
