THE BEST OF HONG KONG
Hong Kong has something for everyone, and it’s a city that never stops—especially in autumn, when the weather is great and some of the most exciting events take place. This fall, try Hong Kong!
AMAZING CYCLOTHON
Love cycling? So does Hong Kong. On October 8th, come enjoy the Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon. It’s the third edition of this exciting event that anyone can enjoy—from amateur to professional, and even those who want to be there just to cheer on the participants as they whiz by.
It’s a mega sporting event with a route that allows maximum enjoyment of this city’s amazing urban skylines and spectacular sea-to-sky views. Depending on your skill level, you can choose to do a 50-kilometre team or individual ride; a 30-kilometre ride; or a kids and youth ride.
The roads are closed to traffic— a rare treat—so it’s an incredible opportunity to enjoy the Cyclothon’s smoothly paved routes by bike. People come from countries all around the world to participate, or to take in the excitement from the sidelines. Come along, and catch cycling fever!
WINE & DINE FESTIVAL
Imagine being in the world’s best city for cuisine—and concentrating that all in a fantastic outdoor event space in the heart of Hong Kong Island. Taking place from October 26th through 29th in the open air next to breathtaking Victoria Harbour, the Wine & Dine Festival proves how east truly meets west when it comes to world-class food, drinks and entertainment.
Enjoy tasting classes with industry experts and wine-pairing menus created by master chefs. The Festival boasts hundreds of lively booths, offering visitors the tastes of many countries from around the world—including wines and single-malt whiskeys, and a huge array of artisanal cheeses. Plus: top bartenders create one-of-a-kind cocktails; Michelin-starred chefs collaborate on dishes you can taste only at this event; and, of course, desserts and confections are major highlights. There really is something for everyone who loves the world of gastronomy at this fabulous event.
WINTERFEST!
Hong Kong is a must-see, especially for its skyline—all those sky-scraping buildings against the backdrop of mountains that sweep to the sea is an incredible sight. And in December, when it comes to a colourful Christmas skyline, you simply have to see this dazzling one to believe it.
The buildings get dressed up even more glamorously for the festive occasion so you can indulge in romantic Christmas ambience and marvel at the glittering illuminations. (Bonus: there are special shopping offers and festive menus.) Then, ring in the New Year with the Countdown Celebrations when, every December 31st, Victoria Harbour is the belle of the ball. It’s a party atmosphere whether you watch the stunning pyro-musical light the skies from shore, from a boat or from high in a skyscraper.
It’s definitely worth planning early to ensure a prime spot—because there is nowhere on earth like Hong Kong.
