y Our trekking columnist this issue, Nelson Sanchez grew up in Punta Arenas and has worked as a mountaineering guide, environmental risk management professional, and researcher studying natural resources, glaciers, and the effects of modern society on the environment in Patagonia. He currently lives with his wife Hannah in the eastern Sierra Nevada of California. Rodrigo Condez is manager of Mitico Puelo Lodge and Tagua Tagua Park, and director of the non-profit Puelo Patagonia, whose mission is responsible development in the Puelo watershed of northern Chilean Patagonia. A longtime mountain and sea kayak instructor, he is also the founder of Mirelejos Chile Adventure and a past director of Conservacion Cochamo and Así Conserva Chile.
