China becomes the third country to complete a manned docking mission, after the Soviet Union and the United States accomplished the feat in 1969. The mission also involved sending China’s first woman, Liu Yang, into space. While their initial docking with the Tiangong-1 was done by remote control from a base in China, they also completed a manual docking.
