Jiaolong , China’s manned submersible, is about to dive into the South China Sea on May 6. Jiaolong explored submarine turbidity currents in the South China Sea with three crew members conducting surveys, taking samples and measuring environmental parameters. They brought back samples of sediment and seawater from near the seabed as well as high-definition photos and video footage.
