Where There’s a Wheel

A new China Railway Express train linking Russia with Golmud in northwest China’s Qinghai Province sets off from Golmud on August 20. The train, loaded with chemical containers, left China through the Alataw Pass in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and will pass through Kazakhstan before reaching Perm in Russia. The route covers about 6,360 km and takes 10 days, a month less than the previous sea route.
