The survey released by China-Doll Center for Rare Disease shows the average height of respondent­s above 16 is 1.25 meters and average weight is 43 kg. About 74 percent of OI adults remain single, 2 percent are divorced and 24 percent are married. Among OI adults, 58 percent have primary school education or below. About 61 percent of OI adults above 19 do not have a job. Among those who have a job, 42 percent earn less than 900 yuan ($150) a month, 1,000 to 1,800 yuan a month (23 percent), and 2,000 to 2,700 yuan (20 percent). More than 73 percent need help and care from others in their daily life, and 13 percent are incapable of living by themselves. About 70 percent of OI adults live with their parents. About 60 percent of urban families say they cannot afford treatment for OI family members. In rural areas, the rate is 70 percent.
