Tram system for Kai Tak proposed

The Hong Kong Tramways has proposed building a tram system to link up the new developments in Kai Tak, though the government had already chosen a monorail system. The trams, which will run on ground level instead of elevated flyovers, will cost HK$3 per ride and cost only a quarter of the estimated HK$12 billion construction cost of the monorail. The mass transport system, exclusive to the new development zone, is undergoing a second stage of public consultation.
