Two life sen­tences arise from bus ex­plo­sion

Two peo­ple were sen­tenced to life in prison on Fri­day in con­nec­tion with a bus fire that killed 42 in July 2011. Yang Lilun, the driver, and Yang Lil­iang, the head of a chem­i­cal com­pany, were con­victed of en­dan­ger­ing the pub­lic se­cu­rity by fail­ing to trans­port chem­i­cals prop­erly, ac­cord­ing to Xinyang In­ter­me­di­ate Peo­ple’s Court. The chem­i­cals, which were car­ried on the bus, ex­ploded and caught fire on an ex­press­way.
