Two life sentences arise from bus explosion
Two people were sentenced to life in prison on Friday in connection with a bus fire that killed 42 in July 2011. Yang Lilun, the driver, and Yang Liliang, the head of a chemical company, were convicted of endangering the public security by failing to transport chemicals properly, according to Xinyang Intermediate People’s Court. The chemicals, which were carried on the bus, exploded and caught fire on an expressway.
