‘Grandma’ gives it all to hometown schools

Xu Fengying, 81, whom netizens call the “great grandma of China”, has set a record for an individual donation in Puyang after selling properties in Beijing. The woman donated more than 700,000 yuan ($113,821) to primary schools in her hometown. Xu was an accountant in a construction company in Beijing before she retired in 1987.
