YA N G T Z E E V E N I N G N E W S A suspected burglar has been detained in Xi’an for allegedly stealing a large amount of cash and other items from six apartments. The 22-year-old, surnamed Jiang, is accused of pocketing 2,500 euros ($2,700), 4,000 yuan ($580), an expensive watch and a mobile phone. According to police, Jiang sold the euros and the mobile phone for just 400 yuan because he did not know how much the cash was worth. The Chongqing native, who was previously jailed for theft in 2013, will be brought to court for trial soon.
