Bell Helicopter to build assembly line in China

US aircraft producer Bell Helicopter will build a helicopter assembly line in Xi’an, capital of northwest China’s Shaanxi province, local authorities said on Saturday. The project, with a total investment of 5.3 billion yuan ($767 million), will be located in Xi’an national civil aerospace industrial base, according to the agreement concluded on Friday between Bell and Shaanxi Aviation Industry Development, a subsidiary of Shaanxi Energy Group. The project includes an assembly line for Bell 407GXP helicopters, a center for helicopter training, emergency response and rescue, as well as research and development related to drones.
