A Chinese father’s letter to his son to “end their father-son relationship” and become “brothers” has sparked controversy. It has also prompted people to reflect on their own relationships with their parents. In the letter, the father first recalled the intimate moments he and his son shared when the boy was a child. As the boy grew older, communication between father and son became less and less, the father said in the letter, which was published in a newspaper in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, last week. The 2017 Guangzhou International Travel Fair will be held from Thursday to Saturday in Guangzhou, Guangdong province. France will be the guest of honor at this year’s show, which has attracted nearly 1,000 exhibitors from more than 50 countries. A forum will also be held during the fair, where experts from the tourism industry will discuss the latest trends. Live-streaming site Inke has hired more than 1,000 people to monitor content 24 hours a day to create what the company called a “green” experience for its viewers. Last week, Inke invited the media to tour its content-monitoring department and call center based in Changsha, Hunan province. The company estimates it spends 80 million yuan ($12 million) a year on cracking down on illegal content. The monitors will constantly be on the lookout for inappropriate behaviors from online anchors.
