Bank exec expelled from Party, office

Yang Dongping, the chief risk officer of the Bank of Communications, was expelled from the Communist Party of China and dismissed from public office for severe disciplinary violations. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection announced on Friday that Yang, who had attempted to resist the probe, had taken advantage of his power and influence to help private businessmen secure loans in exchange for benefits for himself or his relatives.
