Athletes will be treated like babies

-

China’s champion athletes are now under BabyCare after the US company signed a sponsorship deal with the China National Sports Training Center on Wednesday.

Under terms of the agreement, nutritional supplements, which have passed strict doping controls, will be provided to about 1,300 athletes under the umbrella of the center, which is known as the cradle of world champions.

BabyCare is an official sponsor of the women’s professional tennis tour, and its list of clients includes more than 2,000 elite athletes, including 797 Olympians.

NSTC manages 14 of Chinese national teams including table tennis, badminton, diving, gymnastics, volleyball, swimming and athletics. The center has produced more than 186 Olympic and 1,190 world champions.

scored in the second, with Evgeni Malkin assisting on Rust and Kessel’s goals in his first game back after missing the final three weeks of the regular season with an upperbody injury.

It was a surge reminiscent of Pittsburgh’s sprint to a fourth Cup last spring — a push made possible only by Fleury’s hot start.

“When he play like this it’s much easier for us,” Malkin said.

“He’s just an amazing player and I hope he plays the same way on Friday.”

Murray will be re-evaluated on Thursday, but considering how comfortable Fleury looked while tying a club record by making his 101st playoff appearance, there’s no hurry to rush the kid back out there.
