MODERN EXPRESS Passengers on a bus in Qingdao on April 7 were seen jumping out of the windows after the driver, surnamed Cheng, stopped the vehicle and sought police help because a woman complained her bag had been stolen. Almost all of the passengers had exited the bus by the time police arrived at the scene six to seven minutes later. Cheng said he had explained to the passengers what he was doing and asked them to cooperate when he stopped the bus during rush hour. However, many of the passengers said they were in a hurry to get to work. Police failed to locate the victim’s bag.
