Apple Inc to test self-drive vehicles

Apple Inc, the manufactur­er of iPhone and other electronic devices, has joined more than a dozen companies to be allowed to test self-driving vehicles on public roads in California. While the technology company headquarte­red in Cupertino, northern California, did not comment on the latest developmen­t, the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles listed Apple on its website as the latest recipient of an Autonomous Vehicle Testing Permit. The list now includes 30 companies, with Volkswagen Group of America, Mercedes Benz, Google, Delphi Automotive and Tesla Motors being the earliest to receive the permit. Other traditiona­l automakers on the list were General Motors Cruise LLC and Ford of the United States; Nissan, Honda and Subaru of Japan; and BMW of Germany. become the first bicyclesha­ring company to go public in China’s domestic market, providing a test case for the country’s fastgrowin­g industry. Youon, backed by Ant Financial, has received written approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission for a proposed Shanghai IPO of 598 million yuan ($87 million). The move comes amid a fundraisin­g boom in China’s bike-sharing companies in the past several months. en, a new Gallup poll has found. The March 9-29 poll showed that 14 percent of Americans recommend young men pursue a job in the medical field, while 24 percent recommend it to young women. Meanwhile, 13 percent of Americans recommend young men pursue a job in the technology field, while 11 percent recommend it to young women. The other top career recommenda­tions by Americans include a job in the fields of trades/industrial/blue collar, at 9 percent for young men and 5 percent for young women, in the fields of business/self-employed/ sales, at 7 percent for young men and 5 percent for young women, and in engineerin­g field, at 5 percent for young men and 3 percent for young women.
