Woman found in strangers’ house

A tiny village in Ganxian county has recently attracted attention after workers and residents took silver coins unearthed during a local highway expansion. A total of 236 coins with an estimated value of more than 100,000 yuan ($14,500) were found and taken by local villagers and diggers over about five days starting from April 9. The coins are believed to have been minted during the Republic of China period (1912-49). Changluo township’s deputy head Liu Jiang urged the return of the coins to the government since they belong to the State. Sichuan-style spicy grilled fish for the first time a few years ago and loved it. He began to wonder why his family never ate such dishes and always cooked plain food. He suspected that he may have been abducted as a child and that he was not living with his biological parents. He uploaded a childhood photo of himself on a website that seeks to reunite missing children with their biological parents. It matched a photo that his biological parents had uploaded to the database. They were reunited in March.

Lei admitted to climbing through the window into Zhao’s home because she was broke and tired. She said she had recently been fired and could not contact her boyfriend. A woman surnamed Wang had her right thumb reattached after her washing machine cut it off in Xi’an on April 19. The incident took place when Wang, who was in a hurry, opened the washing machine and reached in to take out the clothes immediatel­y after pressing the off button. Doctors said people should wait at least 3 seconds after turning off their washing machines to reach inside. A young surnamed Chen recently earned more than 200,000 yuan ($29,000) as a surrogate mother. The native of rural Guizhou province delivered a healthy daughter in March. She said she will use the money, which is equivalent to a white-collar worker’s annual salary, to support her younger sisters’ university tuition fees, which their parents cannot afford. Chen graduated from university in 2012.
