Gover­nor gen­eral’s visit to boost Sino-Cana­dian ties

David John­ston, the gover­nor gen­eral of Canada, will pay an official visit to China from Mon­day to Friday. He will visit Bei­jing, Chongqing and Guiyang, cap­i­tal of Guizhou prov­ince. John­ston said in a state­ment that the trip “will al­low Canada to de­velop new part­ner­ships and re­in­force our ex­ist­ing ties in the ar­eas of ed­u­ca­tion and re­search col­lab­o­ra­tion, in­no­va­tion, agri-food and tourism”. He first vis­ited China in 2013.
