Cleaners stop night toilet mugger

A man in Guiyang was detained on suspicion of robbery on July 19 after a woman was mugged in a public toilet. Police said the man, surnamed Jiang, laid in wait and attacked his victim, surnamed Liu, after she had finished using the toilet at about 1 am. He allegedly stole 100 yuan ($15) from Liu, but was seized by cleaning staff before he was able to escape. According to reports, Jiang told police he had intended to rape a woman, but decided to only rob Liu because he did not find her attractive. following an investigat­ion, officers discovered Lu and Zuo were both drug users who had got into an argument while taking a taxi home from a hotel where they had been taking narcotics. Police said Zuo overpowere­d Lu, stripped her naked and took away her mobile phone before kicking her out of the taxi and leaving her by the side of the road. rupted by three men, wearing police uniforms, who burst in and demanded Chen pay them a fine. The three men and the woman have been detained. 2,000 yuan ($296) in the process.
