Woman stopped for smuggled lighter

A female passenger was blocked from boarding a flight at Xuzhou Guanyin International Airport on July 19 after she attempted to smuggle aboard a cigarette lighter hidden in her hair. She was caught at about 6 pm when an alarm sounded at a security checkpoint. The woman said she was addicted to smoking Passers-by helped save two women who jumped into the Yangtze River in Nanjing in an attempt to commit suicide on July 21. Chen, a divorcee, and her close friend, Yan, both in their 30s, went to the riverbank at about 7 am after drinking at a nearby bar. The women were rescued by passers-by shortly after jumping, while police who arrived at the scene convinced them not to try again.
