Well-preserved Buddhist murals and clay sculptures from the Ming Dynasty (13681644) were recently discovered at a Tibetan lama temple in Sichuan province, providing rich research materials pertaining to Tibetan Buddhism. The murals with their unique local techniques, radiant colors, smooth lines, elegant decoration­s and compact layout, highlight the unique approach to art during the dynasty. The temple was built in 1269.
