Cyclone kills 5, leaves 50 injured
At least five people were killed and 50 others injured when a cyclone swept through parts of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the local government reported on Saturday. The cyclone wreaked havoc in four villages of Hexigten Banner and Ongniud Banner at 4 pm on Friday, according to the emergency response office of Chifeng, which administers the two banners. Many houses were severely damaged, the office said. Injured people were taken to hospitals. Relief work is underway.
