Nurse who abducted newborn baby jailed

A nurse in Chifeng has been jailed for two years for abducting a newborn baby and giving it to her brother. Liang Xiaohua took the child of an 18-year-old woman, identified as Li Li, who had come to the hospital in November 2013 while 35 weeks pregnant for labor to be induced. Chifeng Intermediate People’s Court found that seven other people, including hospital workers and police officers, were guilty of dereliction of duty in connection with the incident, but all were spared criminal punishment.
