Biz: Top 10 Chinese cities with strongest spending power
Chinese people’s spending power is increasing. In the first three quarters, the country’s per capita expenditure averaged 13,162 yuan ($1,982), up 7.5 percent year-on-year, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics. The average per capita expenditure in Shanghai, Beijing and Tianjin surpassed 20,000 yuan. Shanghai took the top spot with its per capita expenditure hitting 29,441 yuan.
