Suspicious dog deaths spark probe

Harbin police have launched an investigation after receiving reports of the deaths of several pet dogs in a housing estate. An arcade in Tainan has been criticized for putting young women in its claw machines to attract customers. Sitting on piles of stuffed animals, the four bikini-clad models enticed customers to come and try their luck, and offered words of consolation if they failed to win anything. While the gimmick succeeded in attracting crowds, some took offense at the arcade’s shameless objectification of women.
