A university student, Pang Xiaomeng, touched the hearts of netizens after posting more than 140 rail tickets online to show her three-year, long-distance relationship. Pang fell in love with Yang Fenglei when she was an 18-year-old freshman at Dalian University of Technology in December 2014. Yang, a junior at the university, was then 21. The longdistance relationship began when Yang graduated and got a job in Changchun, Jilin province, more than 670 kilometers away. A matchmaker, surnamed Huang, has been detained on suspicion of stealing more than 300 chickens, ducks and rabbits in four months in Laibin county. Huang allegedly started stealing animals when demand for her services as a go-between started to dry up in late 2016. Huang is suspected of having offended more than 20 times in the past four months and earning more than 4,200 yuan ($645) from selling stolen animals. Police also seized cured meats at her home.
