Agricultural brand improvement campaign

-

The Ministry of Agriculture will launch an agricultural brand improvement campaign this year. The campaign aims to strengthen agricultural brand recognition, in order to build a batch of agricultural brands with wide social influence.

Bi Meijia, director of the labor and personnel department of the Ministry of Agriculture, said at a recent meeting of the Chinese Agricultural Brand Innovation Alliance that agricultural brand building is of great significance to China’s high-quality agricultural development. It is expected that agricultural brand building will help transform the agricultural resource advantages into industrial and market advantages.

According to Tang Ke, director of the market and economic information department of the Ministry of Agriculture, local regions will be encouraged to build regional brands for local agricultural specialties.

Meanwhile, the ministry will launch a series of training sessions to improve cultivation, marketing and management capabilities in local regions. In the 62 national special agricultural product regions, the ministry will explore the establishment of a “red list” and “black list” system of regional special agricultural product brands.

Local authorities will also be encouraged to enhance their regulation and protection of agricultural brands.
