CPC delegation rounds off visit to UK
A delegation of the Communist Party of China has wrapped up a four-day visit to the United Kingdom with an agenda to brief on the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
The delegation, led by Wang Xiaohui, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and executive vice-director of the Policy Research Office of the CPC Central Committee, started the visit on Jan 27, according to Xinhua.
On the agenda was also a symposium on the 19th CPC National Congress hosted by Great Britain-China Centre and the 48 Group Club.
In discussions with academic, business and media figures, Wang discussed key guidelines for China’s future policies proposed at the National Congress in October, as well as policies relevant to the UK.
Meanwhile, another CPC delegation led by Leng Rong, the head of Party Literature Research Office of the CPC Central Committee, visited Kazakhstan from Jan 25-28. A symposium held in Astana attracted 180 representatives from several sectors.
Local experts welcomed the future of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, CRI reported.
“Since the reform and opening-up for the past 40 years, China has made fruitful efforts and became more confident,” said Timur Shaimergenov, deputy director of Kazakhstan’s first Presidential Library.
“This self-confidence not only manifests China’s own development but also embodies China’s responsibility in human development. China is eliminating poverty, and its economic growth also benefits other countries along the Belt and Road Initiative,” he said.
