Huawei to pump $81m into Southeast Asia

Tech giant Huawei announced an investment of $81 million in Southeast Asia over three years at the 4th Annual Huawei Asia-Pacific Innovation Day held in Bangkok on Wednesday. Huawei Technologi­es (Thailand) Co Ltd signed a memorandum of understand­ing with Thailand’s National Science and Technology Developmen­t Agency and National Innovation Agency. The agreement outlined a series of joint research and innovation objectives, including developing deeper technologi­cal insights to advance the Thailand 4.0 agenda and fostering a startup-friendly ecosystem in Thailand. HorizonX Ventures arm is investing in San Francisco-based unmanned aircraft systems software startup Kittyhawk, to create an integrated technology platform to support a reliable traffic management system. Boeing said Kittyhawk’s next-generation safety technology will help build such a system to allow UAS drones and piloted aircraft to fly safely and simultaneo­usly in the same airspace. Kittyhawk has been developing enterprise-oriented software and mobile-based apps that integrate real-time UAS flight operations and management solutions all in one platform, Boeing said. models of 550i, 650i, and 750Li, according to the General Administra­tion of Customs.
