Drunken driver beats traffic cop

Chongqing Technology and Business Institute caught about 10 metric tons of fish from a lake on campus to cook a feast for students and school employees on June 25 and 26. A variety of dishes, such as whole fish braised in tomato sauce and fish fillets fried in hot chili oil, were offered for free at the dining hall in celebration of students graduating this year. A teacher, surnamed Deng, said most of the fish were silver carp weighing 10 to 15 kilograms each. Included in the free meal was a bowl of fish soup and a serving of vegetables for each student.

Wu refused to cooperate with an inspection after he was stopped by traffic police on April 10 and fled in his threewheel vehicle. He then beat a traffic officer who found him hiding in a toilet in the rural area. Wu was found guilty in court of drunken driving, dangerous driving and obstructing public affairs.

The child’s mother, Li Lan, called police at 11 pm on June 30 after learning her son and brother had got lost after watching an evening light show in a square with her sister and parents-in-law.
