Xi, Qatar’s emir exchange messages

President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulations on Monday with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties.

Their ties have maintained a good momentum of growth with strengthened political mutual trust, solid pragmatic cooperation and frequent exchanges of humanities, Xi said in the message.

Xi recalled the emir’s state visit to China in 2014, when they announced the building of a bilateral strategic partnership.

Xi said he values developing China-Qatar ties, appreciates Qatar’s active participation in building the Belt and Road, and he is ready to continue to work with the emir to move relations forward so as to benefit the two nations and two peoples.

The emir highly commended and extended gratitude to Xi’s great attention to ties with Qatar. He said he is willing to work with Xi to support and move forward bilateral cooperation in various fields, and Qatar will continue to promote Belt and Road cooperation.
