Swing Night — Old Shang­hai Jazz Band Live Date: Sept 15 — 9 pm Venue: the Pearl in Shang­hai “Old Shang­hai“is a jazz quartet with a dif­fer­ence, per­form­ing a unique mix of mod­ern rock and pop songs in a vin­tage style. The band is in­spired by the Amer­i­can Youtube sensation Post­mod­ern Juke­box, adapt­ing some of Post­mod­ern Juke­box’s most pop­u­lar hit songs by Nir­vana, Daft Punk, Katy Perry, Phar­rell Wil­liams and Fergie. They also write their own ar­range­ments of mod­ern songs, giv­ing chart hits that ev­ery­one knows a retro spin which will de­light au­di­ences of all ages.

That Physics Show in Shang­hai Date: Sept 21-22 — 10:30 am/3:30 pm/7:30 pm Venue: ET Space Life­time pro­fes­sional physics demon­stra­tor David Maiullo brings his sci­en­tific “magic” from the world of physics to the off-Broad­way stage in That Physics Show. Based on the hun­dreds of physics ex­per­i­ments that are pre­sented at physics con­fer­ences and in class­rooms across the coun­try, That Physics Show fea­tures seg­ments on mo­tion, mo­men­tum, vac­uum, fric­tion, en­ergy, den­sity, fluid mo­tion, sound waves and sound vi­bra­tion, light waves, tem­per­a­ture and much more from the in­cred­i­ble world: a world con­trolled by physics.

The Royal Con­cept China Tour 2018 Date: Sept 21 — 8:30 pm Venue: Mao Live House, Guangzhou First at­tract­ing world­wide at­ten­tion with a self-pro­duced hit “D-D-Dance”, which in­tro­duced their Phoenix-like mix of sunny pop and elec­tronic el­e­ments, Stock­holm’s indie dance-rock­ers, the Royal Con­cept, fea­ture vo­cal­ist/guitarist David Lar­son, guitarist Filip Be­kic, bassist Mag­nus Robert, and drum­mer Frans Povel. Early in 2012, the band who set­tled on their moniker in April signed to Lava Records, which re­leased the group’s self-ti­tled de­but EP in that June. Their 2013 de­but al­bum, Gol­drushed, fea­tured the hit sin­gle “On Our Way,” which gained ex­po­sure on the sound­track to FIFA 14, as well as on TV shows such as Glee and Cat­fish. Pro­duced by Tony Hof­fer (who pre­vi­ously worked with acts such as M83, the Kooks, and Depeche Mode) and re­leased in 2015, the Smile EP saw the group take a glam-in­spired change of di­rec­tion.
