Swing Night — Old Shanghai Jazz Band Live Date: Sept 15 — 9 pm Venue: the Pearl in Shanghai “Old Shanghai“is a jazz quartet with a difference, performing a unique mix of modern rock and pop songs in a vintage style. The band is inspired by the American Youtube sensation Postmodern Jukebox, adapting some of Postmodern Jukebox’s most popular hit songs by Nirvana, Daft Punk, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams and Fergie. They also write their own arrangemen­ts of modern songs, giving chart hits that everyone knows a retro spin which will delight audiences of all ages.

That Physics Show in Shanghai Date: Sept 21-22 — 10:30 am/3:30 pm/7:30 pm Venue: ET Space Lifetime profession­al physics demonstrat­or David Maiullo brings his scientific “magic” from the world of physics to the off-Broadway stage in That Physics Show. Based on the hundreds of physics experiment­s that are presented at physics conference­s and in classrooms across the country, That Physics Show features segments on motion, momentum, vacuum, friction, energy, density, fluid motion, sound waves and sound vibration, light waves, temperatur­e and much more from the incredible world: a world controlled by physics.

The Royal Concept China Tour 2018 Date: Sept 21 — 8:30 pm Venue: Mao Live House, Guangzhou First attracting worldwide attention with a self-produced hit “D-D-Dance”, which introduced their Phoenix-like mix of sunny pop and electronic elements, Stockholm’s indie dance-rockers, the Royal Concept, feature vocalist/guitarist David Larson, guitarist Filip Bekic, bassist Magnus Robert, and drummer Frans Povel. Early in 2012, the band who settled on their moniker in April signed to Lava Records, which released the group’s self-titled debut EP in that June. Their 2013 debut album, Goldrushed, featured the hit single “On Our Way,” which gained exposure on the soundtrack to FIFA 14, as well as on TV shows such as Glee and Catfish. Produced by Tony Hoffer (who previously worked with acts such as M83, the Kooks, and Depeche Mode) and released in 2015, the Smile EP saw the group take a glam-inspired change of direction.
