The latest China (Dalian) International Garment and Textile Fair was held from Friday to Sunday, attracting more than 700 fashion brands from home and abroad.
As foreign fashion brands are looking eagerly at China for further growth, Chinese designers and models have also grabbed significant attention on the global stage.
During last year’s New York Fashion Week, 16 Chinese designers — the most to participate so far — showcased their collections.
In 2009, Liu Wen became the first Asian model to traverse the catwalk for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She is the first Chinese face to crack the top five in Forbes’ annual list of top earners.
Last year, a record number of seven Chinese models took to the runway during the show in Shanghai. It was the first time for the lingerie brand to hold its annual extravaganza in an Asian city.
