Art from flux
A group exhibition featuring five artists of different origins who share a fascination for expressing psychological sensations wrought by radical and sudden changes in the material world. The works by Ryan LaBar, Huang Zhiyang, Cynthia Sah, Tang Guo and Daphné Mandel include ink paintings, drawings, collage, ceramics, and stone sculptures.
Master strokes
A rare chance to see a selection of seven privately owned works by Vincent Van Gogh, all painted during the last five years of the artist’s life. The decade before Van Gogh’s death was a highly productive period for the artist and his works from this time influenced many others. The Loaded Brush, a curated exhibition of private works showing Van Gogh’s influence on masters including Monet, Picasso and Renoir, is also on show.

Composer and pianist Max Richter is all set to make his Hong Kong debut. The shows next weekend will feature Memoryhouse, his first solo album which was recorded with the BBC Philharmonic and heralded as a masterpiece in neoclassical composition, and Recomposed, Richter’s reinterpretation of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. The album topped the classical music charts in 22 countries and won Richter the 2018 ECHO Klassik award.
Known for his ability to meld contemporary classical notes with popular music, Max Richter has worked on the scores for many films including Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island and Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival.
Supported by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Richter will play alongside the Norwegian violinist Mari Samuelsen and English soprano and Baroque specialist Grace Davison, conducted by Robert Ziegler, who has worked widely in film orchestration and conducting.
