World’s oldest barber still working at 107

Anthony Mancinelli shook out a barber towel and welcomed the next customer to his chair in Fantastic Cuts, a cheery hair salon in a nondescrip­t strip mall, about an hour’s drive north of New York

City. Mancinelli is 107 and still working full time, cutting hair five days a week from noon to 8 pm. He has been working in barbershop­s since he was 11 and Warren Harding was in the White House. In 2007, at 96 years old, he was recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest working barber.

Student from India professes love for China

An Indian student known by the Chinese name Luo Ouhan, studying in Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign languages expressed his appreciati­on for China and Chinese culture in a recent interview with China News Service. He said he loves Chinese poems, particular­ly the romantic ones by poet Xu Zhimo. Luo said in five languages: “I like China; I like Chinese culture.” China Global Television Network reported in April that China has become the top foreign education destinatio­n for Indian students, surpassing the United Kingdom and the United States, with Chinese language and medicine as the top two majors.

About that skull found in Japanese classroom

The skull on the specimen shelf of a classroom at Tsurumaru High School in Japan’s Kagoshima prefecture is no replica. It’s a real human skull. According to a formal statement released by the government in June, the skull belonged to a woman who died about 50 years ago. The rest of the story is shrouded in mystery, including the details of her journey across time to land in a lecture hall.
