Citi appoints new heads for key units in China
Citibank (China) Co Ltd or Citi China has appointed Yang Ji as head of markets and securities services, and Vicky Tsai as head of securities services. Christine Lam, president and CEO of Citi China, said she is confident Yang, Tsai and their teams will continue to enhance the company’s standards in client service and work toward the development of the financial services market in China. Yang will be responsible for planning and delivering the key priorities of Citi’s MSS business in China. Tsai will lead the China team to deliver on strategic initiatives and business plans as well as to grow and deepen Citi’s securities services presence in China.
Rachel Duan to lead GE global growth markets
General Electric Co named Rachel Duan (pictured) as president and CEO for global growth, effective Feb 1. In her new role, Duan is responsible for leading the global growth markets with a focus on a company-tocountry approach, and will oversee financing and talent development, risk management and brand building. Duan will report directly to group chairman and CEO Lawrence Culp. Prior to the new role, Duan was president and CEO of GE China, and president and CEO at GE Healthcare China, where she delivered significant growth outcomes.
Data firm UEC hires Yan Guorong as CEO
Data analysis company UEC Group Ltd appointed Yan Guorong as its new CEO. Prior, Yan was a senior vice-president at HNA Technology, the tech unit of HNA Group, and executive director and president at Digital China Group Co Ltd. UEC said Yan’s industry experience and management skills will be invaluable for the company’s future development, especially in business expansion and strategic planning.
Sunsea AIoT names Li Bin as executive VP
Internet of things products and services provider Sunsea AIoT Technology Co Ltd named Li Bin as executive vice-president and head of its newly-established module manufacturing unit. In his new position, Li will lead a team to oversee operations and cooperation between Sunsea AIoT’s two module subsidiaries. Prior, Li was CEO of smartphone maker and financial services provider Coolpad Group Ltd. Li said with IoT increasingly adapted in various industries, its development in China will accelerate.
Mercer local unit brings in Leo Shen as GM
Consulting firm Mercer China appointed Leo Shen as general manager of its assets and investment branch effective Feb 11. In his new role, Shen will be based in Shanghai and report to CEO Li Zhaoqi. He is responsible for maintaining the company’s high growth and expanding its overall influence in China. Li said Shen’s incisive industry insights will help the company’s business development. Shen has over 20 years’ experience in the financing industry. Prior, Shen held several executive roles at Manulife and Morgan Stanley.
