Wang vows consistent support to SAR govt
The central government’s top liaison official in Hong Kong pledged to continue its support for the chief executive and her administration in accordance with the law.
The remarks came as Wang Zhimin, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, addressed a Chinese New Year gathering with the Hong Kong SAR Government’s senior officials.
In 2019, Hong Kong will embrace opportunities brought about by the release of the blueprint of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Wang said.
This year, which marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, will also see a number challenges for the city. He hoped the SAR government officials will be confident and join efforts to maintain Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability.
